Kenneth E. Nowell

Coming October 1, 2026:

Flounder O'Toole is drifting through life, far out of his depth.
Enter Bella Ventura―a shy former classmate turned
death-defying internet celebrity―offering a million-dollar prize
for backpacking Spain's Camino de Santiago in 33 days.
Flounder and his besties take the bait,
but along the 500-mile, mystical pilgrim trail,
they discover that Bella
will be dictating strict Camino Commandments,
making blisters the least of their problems.
Step by step, village by village, secrets surface
and mysteries mount, causing the clueless crew to wonder:
Is Bella chasing ratings, relationships, or revenge?

About the author:

Kenneth E. Nowell...

... is the author of both fiction and nonfiction, including Amazon's #1 bestselling Vatican travel guide, Rome and the Vatican: Guide 4 Pilgrims, and the novel El Camino Loco: An Epic Misadventure. A lifelong entrepreneur, attorney, and student of history, faith, and human nature, Ken has lived a life rich in experiences that frequently find their way into his writing. At age twenty-nine, he was elected to the West Virginia Legislature after an upset victory over the sitting Speaker of the House. He later practiced law in South Carolina and went on to own and operate a variety of successful businesses, including startups and turnaround companies in several states. An avid pilgrim and traveler, Ken has completed six long-distance Camino backpacking journeys—three across Spain and three across Italy. The people, landscapes, challenges, and unexpected encounters of those adventures helped inspire El Camino Loco and continue to influence his work. Ken holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from West Virginia University, as well as Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of South Carolina. Today, he lives on Florida's Treasure Coast, where he writes, sails, and enjoys exploring the intersection of humor, faith, adventure, and personal transformation.
